Notes
'Kissen' mugo pine (Pinus mugo 'Kissen') is a shrub for rock gardens, containers, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows slowly into a broad, evergreen mound. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It tolerates drought and salt, and birds visit it.
Pairs well with Emerald Pink moss phlox, Cerise Queen yarrow, Red fescue, and Shrubby cinquefoil.
