Notes

'Maui Buttercups' hosta (Hosta 'Maui Buttercups') is a perennial for shade gardens, containers, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. The bright gold leaves are rounded, deeply cupped, and thick, and near white flowers open in midsummer. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Hummingbirds and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Aureola Japanese forest grass, Bigleaf hydrangea, and Astilbe.
