Notes

'Mercurius' iris (Iris 'Mercurius') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. The upright petals are pansy violet with darker veins, and the drooping petals are erythrite red shaded black with a maroon blotch. It blooms in early to late spring and again in early to late summer.

Pairs well with Clary sage, Feather reed grass, and Casa Blanca lily.
