Notes
'Monjaw' mugo pine (Pinus mugo 'Monjaw') is a shrub for rock gardens, borders, foundation plantings, and specimen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. This evergreen grows slowly in a broad shape. It tolerates drought and salt, and birds visit it.
Pairs well with Emerald Pink moss phlox, Globosa Colorado spruce, Pearly everlasting, and Red fescue.
