Notes

'New York' amaryllis (Hippeastrum 'New York') is a bulb for borders, containers, and cut flower use, and it also works as a specimen. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It blooms in early to late winter and again in early to late spring. It also tolerates drought. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Gladiolus, Mondo grass, and Silver sage.
