Notes

'Orange Peel' Japanese witch hazel (Hamamelis intermedia 'Orange Peel') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its fragrant, yellow-orange flowers open in winter and early spring, and the leaves color in fall. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows 94 to 122 inches tall and wide, so give it room.

Pairs well with Lenten rose, Common snowdrop, Snow crocus, and Ivy-leaved cyclamen.
