Notes
'Picotee' oriental poppy (Papaver orientale 'Picotee') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It forms a clump 24 to 36 inches tall and wide, and it blooms in spring and again in summer. Bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit the flowers.
Pairs well with Iris, Baby's breath, Brookside crane's-bill, and Lady's mantle.
