Notes

'Purple Jacket' iris (Iris 'Purple Jacket') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. The dark violet blooms have plum purple tones and a short yellow vein. Flowers appear in early to late spring and again in early to late summer.

Pairs well with Munstead lavender, Feather reed grass, and Red-hot poker.
