Notes

'Pygmee' amaryllis (Hippeastrum 'Pygmee') is a bulb for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. It bears orange-red blooms on stems about 14 inches tall. The flowers open in winter and spring, so they brighten the garden at a quiet time.

Pairs well with Mondo grass, Society garlic, and Feverfew.
