Notes
'Rare Edition' iris (Iris germanica 'Rare Edition') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. The fragrant flowers have white petals bordered with violet purple, and the white beard has purple speckles. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Keep it away from dogs and cats, since it is toxic to both.
Pairs well with Maiden pink, Alexander Fleming peony, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
