Notes

'Raspberry Queen' oriental poppy (Papaver orientale 'Raspberry Queen') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and cut flower beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It goes semi-dormant after flowering in summer heat, then flushes new foliage as summer cools into fall. Plant a low, mounding perennial in front to mask the bare spot.

Pairs well with Ostfriesland sage, Lady's mantle, and Purple Sensation ornamental onion.
