rhododendron

Notes

Rhododendron (Rhododendron erosum) is a shrub for woodland gardens, shade borders, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes part sun. Crimson red funnel-shaped flowers open in early to late spring. The olive-green leaves have fawn-colored fuzz on the undersides and look burgundy when young. Give it well aerated, well drained soil.

Pairs well with Sasanqua camellia, White bigleaf hydrangea, Snowdrop, and Mondo grass.
