Notes

Rosinweed sunflower (Helianthus silphioides) is a perennial for naturalized plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average soil. It stands 3 to 10 feet tall, tolerates drought, and blooms yellow with reddish-purple centers from late summer into mid autumn. Deer tend to pass it by. Give it room, since it can spread up to 5 feet wide.
