Notes

Sawtooth sunflower (Helianthus grosseserratus) is a perennial for low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Bees visit the yellow flowers, and birds and rodents eat the seeds. It blooms in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn.

Pairs well with Ox eye, Wild bergamot, and Culver’s root.
