Notes
'Señor Jinx' iris (Iris 'Señor Jinx') is a perennial for borders, cut flower arrangements, and fragrant gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun. Velvety black blooms open in early to late spring on tall stems. Divide the clumps every two to three years just after blooming, and plant the rhizomes at or just below soil level. It is not a favorite of rabbits, though hungry rabbits will eat almost anything.
Pairs well with Picture peony, Grape hyacinth, and Prairie dropseed.
