Notes

'Sungold' sunflower (Helianthus annuus 'Sungold') is an annual for borders, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. Frost will kill it, so set it out only after the last frost in spring. This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast and stands erect at 72 to 84 inches tall. Double yellow blooms attract butterflies, bees, and birds. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Sensation cosmos, Indian blanket, and Red fescue.
