Notes

'Whit I' lagerstroemia (Lagerstroemia indica 'Whit I') is a shrub for pollinator gardens, specimens, hedges, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Raspberry pink flowers open from early to late summer and again in early autumn, and butterflies and bees visit the blooms. It sits low on the menu for deer. The dense growth fills out quickly.

Pairs well with Chaste tree, Little bluestem, Clary sage, and Boxwood.
