Notes

'Zesting Lemons' iris (Iris germanica 'Zesting Lemons') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and cut flower use. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. Its bright yellow beard looks dusted with lemon zest, and the fragrant flowers open in late spring and again in early to late summer. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Keep it away from dogs and cats, since it is toxic to both.

Pairs well with Maiden pink, Stargazer lily, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Alexander Fleming peony.
