Notes

'Arikara Sunflower' sunflower (Helianthus annuus 'Arikara Sunflower') is an annual for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is tender to cold, and the first hard frost will kill it. This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows 96 to 108 inches tall and blooms from early to late summer, and butterflies, bees, and birds visit the flowers. Deer tend to pass it by. It also tolerates drought.

Pairs well with First Knight fountain grass, Polar Bear zinnia, and Signet marigold.
