Notes

'Ballerina' Indian-hawthorn (Rhaphiolepis indica 'Ballerina') is a shrub for hedges, foundation plantings, containers, and specimen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast into a dense, evergreen mound. Fragrant spring flowers draw bees, and birds visit too. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Strawberry tree, Mondo grass, Carolina jessamine, and Southern magnolia.
