Notes

'Masja' bigleaf hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla 'Masja') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, containers, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows 24 to 36 inches tall and wide with an erect habit. Growth is rapid, and the plant tolerates salt. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Patriot hosta, Aureola Japanese forest grass, Astilbe, and Fringed bleeding heart.
