Notes

'Natchez Trace' iris (Iris 'Natchez Trace') is a perennial for borders, cutting gardens, and vertical accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun. Its fragrant red flowers open in early to late spring. Divide the clumps every two to three years just after blooming, and plant the rhizomes at or just below soil level. Rabbits tend to nibble other plants first.

Pairs well with Picture peony, Grape hyacinth, and Christmas fern.
