Notes

'Pendula' Canadian hemlock (Tsuga canadensis 'Pendula') is a tree for specimen planting, hedges, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. This evergreen has an arching habit and grows at a rapid rate. Birds visit it.

Pairs well with Paradigm hosta, Siberian bugloss, and Bush honeysuckle.
