Notes
'Piquant' amaryllis (Hippeastrum 'Piquant') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, containers, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Each stem carries an umbel of 4 to 5 orange-red flowers with a white border on every petal. The blooms measure about 7 inches across.
Pairs well with Society garlic, Mondo grass, and Silver sage.
