Notes

'Sable Night' iris (Iris 'Sable Night') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil. It grows 24 to 36 inches tall and bears black-violet blooms in early to late spring and again in early to late summer. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It also tolerates dry spells.

Pairs well with Sum and Substance hosta, Feather reed grass, and Wild geranium.
