Notes

Sand hill sage (Artemisia pycnocephala) is a perennial for low maintenance beds and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy soil. The silky, silver-gray foliage forms a low, dense mound and tolerates salt, so it suits coastal gardens. It looks best in its first couple of years, so replace it as it ages. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Seaside daisy, Seaside buckwheat, and Beach suncup.
