Notes
'St. Petersburg' iris (Iris 'St. Petersburg') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. The violet-white flowers are fragrant and open in early to late spring and again in early to late summer. It grows 30 to 36 inches tall and handles dry spells well.
Pairs well with August Moon hosta, Angelique tulip, Ernest Markham clematis, and Incrediball Blush smooth hydrangea.
