Notes

'Coral Sea' Japanese quince (Chaenomeles superba 'Coral Sea') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It blooms from early to late spring and draws bees and birds. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. The flowers are fragrant, and the shrub is drought tolerant once settled in.

Pairs well with Lenten rose, Armenian grape hyacinth, and First Knight fountain grass.
