Notes

'Nicoline' Japanese quince (Chaenomeles superba 'Nicoline') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It blooms from early to late spring with fragrant flowers that attract bees and birds. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It also tolerates drought once settled in.

Pairs well with Lenten rose, First Knight fountain grass, and Armenian grape hyacinth.
